Little Big Workshop, a strategy and cute factory sim from developer Mirage Game Studios and publisher HandyGames, has released a new gameplay trailer announcing it will be ported to mobile devices. A concrete launch date wasn’t confirmed, but fans can pre-order and pre-register now.
Little Big Workshop originally launched in 2019, and is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. The mobile port will be available on the App Store, Google Play, and Galaxy Store. You can watch the full mobile announcement trailer on the Handy Games YouTube channel:
Little Big Workshop is a true simulation game, where players have access to a lot of the minutiae that would ordinarily make factory management quite dull. Instead, the adorable art design, creative challenges, and flexibility of the mechanics have won over fans since it first launched.
Along with the sandbox and open-ended gameplay, Little Big Workshop allows a surprising level of freedom. This probably makes it ideal for mobile gaming, which benefits from mechanics you can easily pick up and become lost in for a few hours, so that you can relax on a trip. In fact, Little Big Workshop has already proven its mobile appeal on the Switch.
However, the Switch version does cost $20, and the mobile port on the App Store is looking to charge half as much. Besides, mobile devices help invite more casual players who aren’t deeply invested in gamer culture and big consoles.
Little Big Workshop’s adorable world and intuitive gameplay loop should certainly speak to that crowd. But there is a lot to manage, as the gameplay naturally evolves, and it can get quite dense in the late game.
