Ben Starr, the voice actor for Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy 16, is eager to reprise his role in the popular video game series. Speaking on the VGC Podcast, Starr conveyed his personal attachment to the character and stated that he would “jump at the chance” if given the opportunity to portray Clive again.
Starr, apparently a lifelong Final Fantasy fan, did a great job as Clive in Final Fantasy 16. The community loves him, and he was involved in the press events leading up to the game’s launch. He is as much a fan as a part of the game franchise. This is why he eagerly wants to go back and play the character more.
“I feel such a personal attachment to him, as I said, and so if someone said we would like Clive to be involved in whatever thing, I would go, ‘yes, please let me do it’ because I feel a responsibility to do that.”

Unfortunately, Starr clarified in a VGC Podcast (Thanks VGC) that he has not received any communication regarding reprising this role. He even mentioned that there was no call to add him to Kingdom Hearts either. Unfortunately, the Kingdom Hearts franchise doesn’t use characters from the Final Fantasy series as they did before. It looks like, for now, there aren’t any plans to add Starr in.
Square Enix released Final Fantasy 16’s first story DLC in December, and a second story expansion is scheduled for launch in the spring of 2024. So there isn’t less of a need for Clive.
Ben Starr’s passion for the role of Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy 16 is evident. He clearly has a deep attachment to the character and a strong desire to continue portraying him. However, that doesn’t guarantee work. Starr has yet to be approached to reprise the role, and if that continues, the story may end there.
Still, with upcoming expansions for Final Fantasy 16 on the horizon, Starr may have the opportunity to bring Clive to life again. We’ll have to wait and see.
