According to Uchida Yuuya, the voice of Clive in Final Fantasy 16 (FF16), Square Enix will announce something about FF16 in December. We know it’s Final Fantasy 16 because he made sure to mention the game in the beginning.

This is a voice actor speaking on a rumor, but we tend to give it more credence because he’d likely have heard the rumor from people in the know or those who work at Square Enix. Even though this isn’t a rumor that someone random on Reddit made up, you still want to take it with a grain of salt. The original tweet is in Japanese, so here’s a Google Translate version:

“This is an angry FF16 retweet. I’ve been wondering about it since I was playing it. I want to move forward quickly, but I also want to move forward properly.
There are rumors that something will be announced in December, so we have to move forward.
I love all the works I’ve been involved with, there are so many that I want to cherish, and I want to go to all the works I’m interested in, so oooh!”

Uchida Yuuya

There were no further details on what the announcement could be or what everyone should expect. However, this could be bad or good for those who liked Final Fantasy 16. “So we have to move forward” onward sounds more like letting the project go even though it was beloved.

If other tweets involving references to Final Fantasy games are to be believed, we’re almost as likely to hear about Final Fantasy Tactics as we are about Final Fantasy 16. It looks like after I posted this, an update came out, so here was the news!

There are a few days left until The Game Awards, which is when we will likely hear more about the game.
