Forspoken is an action-based, role-playing game, which follows the journey of Frey, who has been transported to the land of Athia, where she has to use her magical powers to get back home. Mutants are bosses that you can choose to engage with (though not required), but they are well-worth contending with to get their rewards. Altered Aiolornis Mutant Guide

You can engage with the Altered Aiolornis by heading to either The Citadel or Fields of the Fallen, as there are two of these mutants available to battle in Praenost. There is one you can battle at the Northern Corridor in Visoria.

Keep in mind, the Altered Aiolornis is best countered using Prav’s Magic, but you can use Frey’s Magic if you don’t have Prav’s Magic yet. You will want to avoid Sila’s Magic as it is resistant to that type.

How to defeat Altered Aiolornis in Forspoken

If you wait until you unlock Prav’s Magic, this fight will be a lot easier, so if you want to take on this mutant earlier on, you will need to be quick on your feet and pay close attention to where the boss is in the sky as it has swooping attacks that come quickly.

You will want to use Frey’s Scatter Shot (preferably leveled up to three) as it is one of the few attacks that has a chance of reaching the Altered Aiolornis so high in the sky. Keep an eye out for whenever the game alerts you to an upcoming attack by flashing red, as this is the bird’s major divebomb that can inflict a lot of damage.

When battling the Altered Aiolornis in the Fields of the Fallen, you will have to combat regular Aiolornis and Argentavis, which you’ll want to work to eliminate before attempting the boss–just be mindful of the boss’ big attacks to avoid taking mega-damage.

You will have to deal with Qiliania when taking this mutant on in the Northern Corridor, and you’ll want to use Prav’s magic to counter them early on.

After defeating the Altered Aiolornis in The Citadel or Fields of the Fallen, you’ll receive four Welkind Garlands. Don’t forget to have Healing Draughts on hand to ensure you can heal yourself during battle!
