Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 2 has just been released and with it come a lot of new changes and additions to the game. This is always an exciting time because Epic tries out some new things and adds a bunch of features that players haven’t experienced before. With building being removed temporarily, you will now have to rely on movement to avoid damage. This can be done with some new parkour based moves that you can utilize!

There are three movement based additions that you will find useful in the new season:

Sprinting

Run at the new default movement speed. A quicker default movement speed also translates into a faster sprint! This sprint is so rapid that you’ll have to put whatever you’re holding in your pocket. Because sprinting at a high speed can’t be sustained indefinitely, a new sprint meter will inform you how much longer you can go at that speed.

Mantling

Gaining the upper hand in a conflict has always been crucial to victory. And, thankfully, where your feet fail, your hands can now assist you. Your hands can come into play and pull you up if a surface is just a little too high for your jump — or a platform is just a bit too distant for your landing!

Shoulder Bash

When it comes to sprinting, try slamming doors open with your shoulder. It’s probably not the most courteous thing to do, but at the very least you look great doing it. You can now open doors by sliding into them!

While this won’t outright replace building, it does give you some unique movements that can be used to keep yourself safe when getting into fights. It also adds a different style of fast-paced gameplay that players might find themselves enjoying!
