We’re only a few days away from the new Fortnite teaser, with players from across the world eagerly awaiting the new jungle-themed “Wilds” season to release. As is typical in the days leading up to each new season, a teaser has been released showing what’s happening to the map ahead of the release on June 9.
Update (June 6, 2023, 8:19 MT): Shortly after posting the teaser video, the image above was shared by data miners on Twitter, and also information was given that the season would be revealed at Summer Game Fest on June 8.
In the teaser, players can see the ground splitting apart, similar to the fissures that have been appearing on the ground in Fortnite‘s last two content updates. Now it appears those roots have caused the ground to fall apart completely, revealing a new misty jungle biome that looks like it’s in a lower part of the map. It’s not a small portion of the map either. In fact, it looks like the entire middle of the map has fallen.
Near the end of the trailer, there is also a specific focus on some kind of temple that might be near the middle of this new biome, but it’s unclear what significance this will have. There are also new skins from Chapter Four, season three battle pass shown in the trailer that will likely be on the new service. These include a Fishtick variant and two of the three previously leaked Chapter Four, season three skins.
Data miners shared some screenshots from the trailer, but they’re blurry due to the cropping, which iFireMonkey jokes about below.
There was also a rideable raptor shown on the loading screen, which may imply that there’s a prehistoric theme to the next season as well. This is just speculation though, and it will be interesting to see what Epic Games teases in the coming days.
