There have been a lot of leaks about what is coming to Fortnite in recent months, from next season’s jungle theme to a rumored new racing mode. Now one leaker is claiming that not only is the game getting a racing mode, but it will also include its own battle pass separate from the battle royale.
Earlier this morning, popular Fortnite data miner ShiinaBR teased that they were going to have a mildly exciting announcement in the following few hours. Shortly after, they tweeted out that the previously leaked Fortnite car racing game mode would feature its own dedicated battle pass.
Not only is Shiina a reliable leaker for Fortnite but they also rarely post such definitive statements without evidence to back it up. While there has been no evidence posted to back up their claims, Shiina has been right about nearly everything they’ve posted in the last year, at least. We’ll need to wait for more definitive proof or confirmation from Epic Games themselves, but the prospect is interesting.
If it is entirely separate from the standard battle pass, then it could include something like cosmetics for the cars that you’ll race with. A big part of the racing mode leak earlier this month was that the game will also add the ability to customize the cars that you race with, similar to Rocket League. While the objective will be different, the ability to customize cars would likely be appreciated among Fortnite‘s fans.
In a tweet from earlier today, another popular Fortnite leaker, HYPEX, posted a list of what to expect next season. On that list, he states that the racing mode will be part of Chapter Four, season three. This is unconfirmed and goes against previous reports from data miners about it coming much later this year, but they could have seen something we haven’t.
