Fortnite is known for celebrating the seasons in a big way, with the summer event in 2023 being less than popular among the community. However, developer Epic Games is trying again this year with the announcement of the Summer Escape event being confirmed for next week, starting after downtime on Tuesday, July 4.
There weren’t many summer-related files added in Fortnite‘s v25.11 update this past Tuesday, so it makes sense that the event would be starting after what is scheduled to be a major content update. Many players expressed disappointment with last year’s “No Sweat Summer” event, so it will be interesting to see if Epic has any plans to take this one further.
The start date for Fortnite‘s Summer Escape event was previously leaked by data miners during the update and the loading screen in the files seems to hint at this too. One of the skins is a variation of an older character, but she’s wearing red, white, and blue that’s very reminiscent of the American flag. With July 4 being Independence Day in America, it makes sense there would be a celebratory skin if that’s the day the event begins.
While there have been a lot of leaks from the developer recently, Epic has done a pretty good job of keeping what’s coming during the event under wraps.
This is a developing story and more information will be added as it becomes available. Make sure to check back at Try Hard Guides for all the latest information about Fortnite‘s Summer Escape event coming on July 4, 2023.
