It’s been a little while since Fortnite launched its last content update, v25.10, and it seems like players are starting to get a little antsy. However, while updates usually drop in the early morning on Tuesday, and one was expected tomorrow, it seems like Epic Games is giving the indication that the v25.20 update will be coming on Wednesday, July 26.

This was originally pointed out by ShiinaBR on Twitter, who shared a quote tweet of Fortnite Status stating that a Wednesday competition has been moved to tomorrow. Epic Games has rarely, if ever, scheduled a competitive event the same day as an update as it would introduce new gear and other changes that players aren’t used to.

With the summer even ending a week ago and the next season of Fortnite expected to begin a month from now, it’s unclear what the new updates to the game could bring. Following last year’s summer event, Epic Games came back in a big way before the end of the season with the crossover with Dragon Ball Z, so nothing is off the table for Fortnite in the coming days.

It was previously assumed that the Fortnite v25.20 update was coming this week because it was added to the staging servers, a clear sign it will be released soon. While Tuesday is usually the new content day, it seems like the safer bet is that it will come early in the morning on Wednesday, following the competitive event happening tomorrow.
