Developer miHoYo has announced the release date for Genshin Impact‘s version 3.7 update, titled “Duel! The Summoners’ Summit”. Set to roll out on May 24, the update introduces numerous fresh elements to the globally popular game.
The upcoming update, as announced by miHoYo, will introduce the “King of Invokations Grand Prix” as the main event. It is an international TCG tournament across Teyvat, attracting a plethora of visitors, including card players, tourists, and journalists from various nations. The tournament will also serve as the backdrop for the game’s new event storyline featuring a mysterious case investigated by Charlotte, a reporter from Fontaine working for the esteemed newspaper The Steambird.

miHoYo is also incorporating over 60 brand-new TCG cards into Genshin Impact, expanding the existing collection to bring more depth and strategy to the game’s TCG experience. Two new modes, the player-versus-player “Arena of Champions” and the player-versus-environment “The Forge Realm’s Temper”, are also being introduced to provide gamers with more variety and flexibility in gameplay.
The update will also see the addition of a new playable character, Kirara, a four-star Dendro sword user. Kirara is a responsible courier from Inazuma, who uses her nekomata abilities for transformations and powerful attacks. Her elemental skill allows her to create a Dendro shield, and her elemental burst results in a flurry of small Dendro bombs. Kirara’s unique abilities make her a valuable addition to any player’s roster.
Another highlight of the upcoming update is the first glimpse of the nation of Fontaine, which will be added to the game world in a future update. This tantalizing preview suggests new adventures and challenges awaiting Genshin Impact players in the unexplored regions of Fontaine.
The update also features several trials designed to test the combat techniques and creativity of the players. These include facing off against formidable enemies in “Feast of the Departed Warriors”, time-suspended battles in “Fayz Trails: Hypothesis”, and the ability to share custom Domains in “Divine Ingenuity: Collector’s Chapter”.
Genshin Impact is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC through the client and Epic Games Store, and on mobile devices via the App Store and Google Play. A Switch version of the game is also in the works.
