During today’s Google for Games Developer Summit, an announcement has been made that might help make Stadia more accessible and a bigger player in the video game industry. They are calling this B2B offering “Immersive Stream for Games.”

In 2022, Google will allow any Stadia game developers to offer a free trial of their game without requiring a Stadia account to play, which means trying out a game will be easier to new players. Google will also make it easier to find free gaming trials through their store and allow for purchase without requiring an account.

Developers can also port over their Unreal Engine and/or Unity Games to the Stadia platform that makes it so developers will not have to modify their game renderer at all. They will also allow for white-label partners to offer free trials, demos, and paid games.

Google Stadia has been received with mixed results, and has been seen as lacking content in their library and missing some features. It was reported in February 2022 that the the platform has been demoted at Google, and they would be shifting gears on how it is going to work in the future.
