Graveborn Guide

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is right around the corner, and we’ve only got a short amount of time to get ready for the adventure. Looking for a leveling build guide for your first playthrough as a Graveborn? We’ve got you covered with this simple yet powerful build that will turn your foes to dust.

Wonderlands Graveborn Leveling Guide

This Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Leveling Guide will focus on the Graveborn’s interaction with spells. While the Graveborn is an interesting class with many different potential builds, for this Graveborn Leveling Guide we’re going to do our best to keep things relatively simple with skills that buff and interact with your spells.

Graveborn Hype

Keep in mind the Graveborn’s feat, Demi-Lich Companion, and the companion keyword:

The Fatemaker is accompanied by a floating Demi-Lich Companion that targets enemies at range and deals Dark Magic damage.

Whenever the Fatemaker casts a Spell, the Demi-Lich will cast Hellish Blast, creating a homing projectile of the Spell’s elemental type, dealing damage to nearby enemies on impact.

Any increases to the Fatemaker’s Damage also apply to their Companions.

The companion keyword refers to special monsters summoned by the Graveborn, including the Demi-Lich. As far as I can tell, it does not refer to other players in your party.

We won’t be multiclassing in this guide, using this build an introduction to the Graveborn class instead. However, this is still a solid and powerful build, and you should still find plenty of synergies when you decide to multiclass.

Graveborn Character Creation

To start building your character, you must first pick the right options in character creation. These starting stats help give you the boost you need towards building your character and can save you a lot of hassle later.

Spellshot And Gravekeeper Background

You want the Failed Monk background for the extra points int Intelligence and Wisdom. This is sort of the idealized spell-caster background.

Graveborn Spellshot Hero Points

Next, dump ALL of your Hero Points into Intelligence to maximize your spell cooldown. You’re going to want to continue to do this as you level your character up, as spamming spells is sort of the core of this build.

Graveborn Skill Point Guide

This guide tells you how to build your Graveborn via allocation order of your skill points. To properly follow this leveling build, you should be using your skill points in the order listed below, as you obtain them.

Each section of this Wonderlands leveling guide will describe how to spend your next 10 skillpoints. Remember that you unlock the next tier of abilities every 5 skill points spent.

Assuming Wonderlands functions similarly to other Borderlands games, we should have a total of 50 skill points to spend by max level. We won’t be spending all of them in this build, but we will be keeping that budget in mind.

First 10 Skill Points

Begin your Graveborn build by allocating 5 skill points to the Essence Drain skill. This allows you to make more frequent use of your spells. Spells are like Wonderland’s version of grenades, and any veteran to the Borderlands series knows how powerful grenade use can be.

Gw 1

Next, you’re going to want to put 3 points into Sanguine Sacrament. This will restore health to your character every time you use spells, which you should be doing frequently thanks to Essence Drain.

Gw 2

After this, go back to tier 1 and put 2 points into Mortal Vessel. This is an all-around good skill to have maxed, so you should be dumping any extra points into it when you get the chance.

Gw3

After this, you should have your third tier of skills unlocked.

Skill Points 11-20

Dread Covenant is your next 1 point investment. This gives you a little damage mitigation and a free life at the expanse of your companion, which will respawn some time after dying. An undeniably useful ability to have, especially if you’re playing solo.

Gw 4

Next, we’re going to head back to tier 2 and invest 4 points into Stain of the Soul, giving your spells extra damage that we can buff later. At this point, your Graveborn should be shaping up to be a truly dangerous spell slinger, and it only gets stronger from here.

Gw 5

With the next tier now unlocked, you want to invest your next 4 points into Punishment and Ascension, in that order. Both of these skills greatly buff the damage of your spells. Once Ascension is maxed out, put a final skill point into Stain of the Soul.

Gw 6

End of Build

Nearing the end of the Graveborn’s skill tree. we’re going to be putting the finishing touches on our spell damage to create a truly powerful caster. Put your next 5 skill points into Blast Gasp, a powerful skill for this build that should then unlock the final tier of the Graveborn skill tree.

Gw 7

Morhaim’s Blessing marks the end of the skill tree and the ultimate skill for our spell build. Casting a spell now immediately activates Ascension, Essence Drain, and any other kill skills you have. Keep in mind, these skills will still activate again every time you get a kill, essentially giving you two uses of these skills every time you make a spell kill.

Gw 8

The Graveborn’s interaction with spells and kill skills make it an incredible class for multiclassing, so I would save the rest of your skill points for your second skill tree. However, if you want even more damage on your spells. you can go back to tier 2 and invest some points into Dark Pact to increase your damage from Stain of the Soul.

That’s all you need to know for this Graveborn leveling build! This is a solid build that should help you through your first adventure in Wonderlands. Leave a comment below if you found this guide helpful, and check out our other Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Guides.
