The sprawling metropolis of Southern San Andreas is about to become a battleground as a new power shift threatens the criminal underground. GTA Online will see the controversial Merryweather Security, known for their shady dealings, expand their operations in an effort to edge out any rival factions across the city. This development has raised the stakes for independent criminals in the city, prompting a counteroffensive to challenge Merryweather’s escalating dominance.
Slated to launch on June 13, the new update, GTA Online: San Andreas Mercenaries, will see players join forces with a squadron of elite pilots and ex-military personnel. Together, they’ll confront the massive private military forces that have infiltrated the land, sea, and air spaces of San Andreas. This update promises action that will ripple across the city’s streets, seas, and skies.
In the face of this threat, expert aircraft mechanic and ace pilot Charlie Reed steps up to recruit a group of competent aviators and mercenaries, the Los Santos Angels. This squadron will embark on various high-risk missions, including data theft from server farms, strategic raids, and explosive payload drops on valuable targets across the state.
With Charlie’s support, players will see the Mammoth Avenger transform into an improved aerial command center, outfitted with a new Operations Terminal and weapons system upgrades. The update also paves the way for players to engage in new ventures on the ground, running contraband and seizing spontaneous opportunities to plunder cash and goods from wealthy moving targets.
Avenger and Hangar owners, whether seasoned or new to smuggling, can look forward to several upgrades. These improvements include the option to store and customize the Avenger from your Hangar, and to store and access your Avenger even without owning a Hangar or Facility property. Players are encouraged to prepare their teams, equip their Hangar facilities, set up their Avengers, and polish their smuggling skills for the impending challenge.
In addition to the thrilling narrative, the update also introduces new random events, a Tactical SMG ideal for drive-by shootings, daily time trials, and much more. Anticipate further enhancements to the overall GTA Online experience, as player-requested improvements roll out with the update. These upgrades include streamlined processes such as claiming all destroyed vehicles at once through Mors Mutual Insurance, the ability to add custom descriptions tags to garages, and new options for Taxi Work.
Community feedback also influences other user-friendly additions, such as easily accessible snacks from the Weapon Wheel and the option to start sell missions in invite-only sessions. These improvements join the myriad of enhancements introduced since the launch of GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. These features include ray-traced reflections, the Career Builder for an optimized climb through the criminal ranks, the mobile Gun Van, a 50-car multi-floor garage, new License Plate Creator, and Taxi Work.
GTA Online: San Andreas Mercenaries will roll out to all GTA Online players on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC on June 13.
