A new Haikyu!! Promotional Video premiered recently in honor of Shoyo Hinata’s birthday. The PV features manga panels highlighting Hinata’s journey to becoming one of the top volleyball players in the world.
The anime community, particularly in Japan, was well-known for celebrating the birthdays of their favorite anime characters. Likewise, the sports anime and illustrated manga series, Haikyu!!, has its way of celebrating the birthday of its main protagonist. June 21st marks the birthday celebration of Karasuno’s ultimate decoy and Number One Shortie, Shoyo Hinata. As such, Haikyu!! released a brand new promotional video, taking back fans to the story of Haikyu and Hinata’s journey from being a volleyball player for Karasuno High to becoming a full-fledge Olympic volleyball player. Here’s a look at the latest Shoyo Hinata official promotional video, courtesy of Jump Comics Channel official Youtube channel:
Shoyo Hinata has been one of the most remarkable shonen protagonists, owing to his personality and unwavering commitment to becoming better at volleyball. Hinata started dreaming of becoming a volleyball player when he once watched a match of the previous Karasuno High volleyball team. His passion for volleyball sparked when he participated in middle school volleyball matches, despite having a disorganized team and being far behind the likes of Tobio Kageyama. His volleyball journey continues when he joined the Karasuno High volleyball team, which was covered, for the most part, in both anime and manga series. In later chapters of Haikyu!!’s illustrated manga series, a time skip arc revealed where Hinata’s volleyball journey extends, culminating in his participation in the Olympic volleyball competition.
Hinata’s Promotional Video was followed by an announcement on the released date of Haikyu!!’s 10th Chronicle, which will be available on September 2nd. Haikyu!! has also provided a preview of the 10th Chronicle book cover, which brings together all of the key visuals published throughout the 10th-anniversary celebration.
