Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, the developer of Stardew Valley, finally gave an update about his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier. He said it was put on hold until the latest Stardew Valley update is completed and available on all platforms. This is update 1.63, which has only just made it to PCs and not on consoles or anything else.
Barone recently shared an update on Twitter during a conversation with a fan. He announced that Stardew Valley’s 1.6.2 update is now available on PC Game Pass and Windows Store. When asked about Haunted Chocolatier updates, Barone replied, “I am eager to get back to work on it. But I have to see Stardew 1.6 settled, bug-free and out to all platforms first.”
Stardew Valley fans may have to wait a bit longer as development on Haunted Chocolatier is currently on hold. On the bright side, this pause might result in a more polished and bug-free Stardew Valley update for consoles.
This is expected because ConcernedApe’s has always been dedicated to Stardew Valley and its players. The game keeps attracting new and returning players, and its recent updates have been significant. In 2021, Haunted Chocolatier was announced. It’s a game with gameplay similar to Stardew Valley, focusing on chocolate-making and running a haunted chocolate shop. However, we haven’t gotten many updates since then.
The release date is still unknown, despite occasional updates from Barone about the game’s development. So at the very least, we know the game is coming and that it will likely receive the same attention to detail that Stardew Valley does.
