The Hitman series has gone on its own live-service journey lately, providing the most recent trilogy for one price, with the promise of additional content coming all the time. The latest announcement from Hitman: World of Assassination developer IO Interactive is that it has partnered with international DJ and actor Dimitri Vegas for a new Elusive Target mission.
In a press release sent out earlier today, IOI stated that Dimitri Vegas will be taking on the role of a DJ called “The Drop” who turned to drugs as a means of controlling and manipulating the scene. The new crossover was announced during Vegas’s set at Tomorrowland on July 30th. The artist expressed his excitement about being part of the new creative endeavor.
I’m extremely excited to be a part of the Hitman universe. It’s always exciting to be involved in creative projects and I’m looking forward to seeing how everyone reacts to my character when the mission launches later this year.

Hitman 3 became Hitman: World of Assassination at the start of this year, bringing all three games of the most recent trilogy and most of the DLC into one title. While IOI had been somewhat attempting it before, this was when the developer decided to go all in on the live-service idea. Now it is beginning to partner with celebrities and well-known figures, something that has proven successful for other live-service titles.
If this mission proves successful, it could pave the way for larger collaborations in the future, given that IOI doesn’t already have more planned.
