Warcraft Arclight Rumble is the upcoming mobile game being launched by Blizzard Entertainment that will take place in the Warcraft universe. The game seems fairly similar to something like Clash Royale, where you will be playing units in an attempt to attack and defend towers. One of the big questions going around right now is how this game will be monetized, which is something we’re going to explore in this post.

Monetization in Warcraft Arclight Rumble

Nothing official has been announced about how monetization works in Warcraft Arclight Rumble. However, according to people that have played it, there seems to be one currency, which is Gold Coins. These can be gained by completing maps, daily challenges, and likely through real money purchase.

As mentioned, nothing has been fully confirmed, but based on the Google Play page for the game, it looks like there will be “random items” available for purchase. So, it would stand to reason that you will be able to purchase chests or boxes that contain units to use in the game. There are over 60 Warcraft minis and characters to collect, so expect to spend your coins on opening those loot boxes.

Additionally, the Gold Coins could be used to upgrade your characters. According to the official Blizzard page for the game, you will gain experience and level up:

After each battle, you’ll gain experience and level up your Minis. Level up to unlock the ability to use game-changing talents!

As you can see from the screenshot below, the hero character has an Upgrade button along with an experience bar that needs to be filled.

A lot of things are unknown right now, so we’re basing many things on speculation. As additional information is released, we will update the post with more official details!

Great information! Thanks so much. I still wonder if the random purchasable items means it will be banned in any country with loot boxes laws.

Good question! I’ll be keeping an eye out for anything additional on this.
