In Fruit Seas, the Vampire race offers a special way to play the game with unique powers. Unlike other races you start with, becoming a Vampire means finding and defeating a particular enemy and also needing some luck. This guide will show you how to unlock the Vampire race and become a night creature.

If you want some freebies in Fruit Seas, check out our codes page on the game. Otherwise, read our guides on the map and islands, and getting Nightshade.

Fruit Seas – How To Get Vampire

The best way to become a vampire is through race orbs, however, we’ve heard that vampire blood can also work. The Discord seems to disagree with this. However, because the rumor has so much credence, we’ll talk about Vampire Blood.

Your journey to becoming a vampire begins by defeating an enemy called Lucius in Fruit Seas. He doesn’t have a set place to stay, but he likes to hide in the dark corners of different places. I found him behind the Colosseum, but when asking on the official Discord, other players had seen him in other places. Here’s everywhere you can find him:

  • Behind the Colosseum: Look for him lurking in the hidden corners.
    • This is where I found him.
  • Top of the Indomitable Fortress: Ascend the fortress and check the highest point.
  • Arlong Park (Mountaintop): Scale the mountain in Arlong Park and see if he’s enjoying the view.
  • Near the Thunder God in Skypiea: Search the area around the mighty Thunder God.
  • Behind the Roulette House in Louge Town: Gambling might not be his vice, but check behind the Roulette House just in case.
  • Behind the Marine Base Building: He might be hiding amongst the Marines, so keep an eye out.

Defeating Lucius is only part of the challenge. He might drop Vampire Blood, which you supposedly need to transform. This is supposedly a 100% chance of a drop, but other players disagree on whether he always drops it. So we’d say there’s a high chance he will, but it’s not guaranteed. Either way, you might have to hunt for it. Once you get the special Vampire Blood, use it to turn into a Vampire. This gives you cool vampire powers:

  • Critical Strike Master: Your critical chance receives a 5% boost, making those lucky hits more frequent.
  • Life Drain: You steal life force 10% more effectively from NPCs.
  • Fangs of Fury: In PvP battles, your life steal increases by 5%, allowing you to drain health from your opponents.
  • Night Stalker: As darkness falls, your regeneration ramps up. Your HP regenerates 15% faster at night, making nighttime skirmishes more advantageous.

Keep in mind that Lucious spawning is pretty rare, and we don’t have confirmation of how often he does it. However, we do know that when he spawns, you’ll get the message, “A dark and mysterious figure has materialized somewhere in the world…”

When you see that, just go to the areas I mentioned above to find him.

While not super important, beating Lucius also allows you to get the Bloody Cloak. This cool cloak matches your vampire style and makes you stronger. He can drop a 2x buff on anything, Vampire Blood, Orbs, and that Bloody Cloak, but it’s a random chance to get any of it.

You can also just race reroll a few times until you get vampire, as we’ve seen before, but we wouldn’t put all our eggs in that kind of basket. It’s rare to reroll that kind of thing, and you’ll end up wasting a lot of money trying to reroll when you can just take down Lucious.
