Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 2 has just been released and with it come a lot of new changes and features to the game. This is always an exciting time because Epic tries out a variety of new stuff and adds a bunch of different things that players haven’t experienced before. To start playing the game, you will need to complete the Boot Camp challenge. If you want to know how, we’ll show you in this guide.

How to do Boot Camp

To do Boot Camp in Fortnite, you just need to use tactical sprint, mantle, and slide. While these are fairly easy to do, you need to make sure you have Sprint, Jump, and Crouch bound to buttons so that you can complete each one properly.

To tactical sprint, you need to bind your sprint key by heading to the settings in Fortnite, and then going to either the keyboard controls or controller controls section. For PC, you will head to the keyboard controls and look for the Sprint option. Enter in any key you want to bind it!

If you’re on controller (Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox), just go to the controller controls and pick which button you want tactical sprint to be bound to. Go through the options and select the sprint option.

Then just go back to the game, hold down the button you selected and you will start sprinting.

To mantle in the game, you just need to jump towards a ledge and keep the jump button held down. Your character will automatically vault up and over or on top of whatever you happened to jump towards. You will usually see an orange highlight with arrows directing you upwards when it’s possible.

Sliding is something you should be familiar with from the first season, but if not you just need to be running forward (normal running, not necessarily tactical sprinting) and then press and hold the crouch button. You will then engage in a slide for as long as you hold it or run out of momentum!
