How to get level 16 cards in Clash Royale

Getting level 16 cards in Clash Royale is now possible, but it's a bit different than you would expect!
Featured Clash Royale Level 16 Cards

Clash Royale recently rolled out some balance changes for April 2022, and one of the cards that was buffed has increased its ability to maximize the value of the cards that it targets. It makes for some interesting new possible decks, and will hopefully shake up the meta for the better. If you’re wondering just exactly how it works, we’ll show you in this guide.

Level 16 Cards

To get level 16 cards in Clash Royale, you need to have your cards leveled up to 14. Then, you will need to use the card Mirror, which will upgrade the last card you played by +2 levels. That means if you play a level 14 card, and then you play the mirrored version of it, you will have the level 16 card you are trying to get!

Mirror is only available for use in decks once you reach Arena 12, known as Spooky Town. When you have it, you will need to maximize the level on the card itself, and only then you can use it to upgrade the last card you played out of your deck to 16. Keep in mind that Mirror does not have an Elixir cost itself, it adopts the cost of your last played card.

The significance of leveling a card up to 16 means their power level increases pretty significantly. Cards receive about a 10% increase in stats for each level they gain, which means around a 20% increase in HP and Damage when the card is mirrored. This is important because not only do they do more damage, but they can withstand more damage from things like The Log, Fireball, or Arrows. Cards that would normally be one-shot by certain spells will survive, which means having to spend additional Elixir to deal with them!

As an example, you can watch SirTagCR on YouTube take advantage of this strategy by using a deck that features Mirror along with powerful cards like Elite Barbarians and Royal Recruits.

  1. Qonqueror

Well, you do not per se need to get your cards up to level 14 before you can use the mirror on them to get them as level 16 cards. Anything goes if the mirror is already buffed up.

  2. dex head

This is actually not true. You only have to have mirror maxed at level 14, not any other card. For example, if you play a level 10 goblin barrel, and mirror it with your maxed out mirror, you will have played a level 16 goblin barrel.
