Anime Last Stand Monster Essence Guide
The only way to get Monster Essence in Anime Last Stand is by completing Toyko Incident Portals. You can get Tokyo Portals in one of three ways:
- Infinite Mode in the Ruined City
- Joining another players Tokyo Portal
- Drop from completing a Tokyo Portal
If you want to obtain Tokyo Incident Portals in Infinite Mode, you must play on the Ruined City map. This map is the only one that can drop Tokyo Portals. It is recommended to play on Nightmare difficulty because you will have a 10% chance to get a Tokyo Portal every time you defeat a boss. A useful tip is to play until wave 40-50 and then restart, so you don’t have to struggle against bosses with massive health pools. It is possible to obtain Tokyo Portals on Normal difficulty, but the drop rate is not as high.
It’s important to note that the Tier of the portal determines the amount of Monster Essence dropped. For example, a Tier 1 Tokyo Portal will drop less Monster Essence than a Tier 5 Tokyo Portal.
The second way is by joining someone else’s portal. By doing so, you don’t have to grind for your own portal in Infinite Mode, but the drop rate is much lower when joining a portal. So, you may get fewer rewards or not even another portal.
And finally, upon completing a Tokyo Portal, there is a high chance of receiving another Tokyo Portal as a drop. This additional portal could be of a higher or lower tier, but if your goal is to farm Monster Essence, the specific tier doesn’t really matter.
