How to get Padded Armor
To get Padded Armor, you will have to craft it with the NPC Herne, who is located in the center of map near The Great Tree. This armor set contains four different pieces that you can craft. This armor set is described as, “padded clothing to protect the wearer from the cold.”
There are three pieces available in the set, but you can always mix and match from different armor sets to maximize the benefits or based on what resources you have enough of. This is an easier armor set to take advantage of early on in the game, especially if it is a colder season as the pieces offer cold protection and only require Fiber to make. You will need 42x Fiber to craft all three pieces.
How to make Padded Bracers
To make the Padded Bracers, you will need 9x Fiber. It provides +9 Cold Protection, +1 Protection, and 110/110 Durability.
How to make Padded Breeches
To make the Padded Breeches, you will need 15x Fiber. It provides +9 Cold Protection, +1 Protection, and has 110/110 Durability.
How to make Padded Wrap
To make the Padded Wrap, you will need 18x Fiber. It provides +9 Cold Protection, +1 Protection, and has 110/110 Durability.
For any item that has durability, using it will cause its durability to drop. When it only requires a minor repair, it is free to do at your camp, but if it has more major repair needed, it will cost materials to repair (similar to it took to create it, just less of the respective ingredients). This means that every time you’re back home, make sure to repair anything you can while it’s free!
