These accessories not only serve as cool decorations to flaunt to friends but also provide unique passive abilities. But how does one get these intriguing Shoulder Buddy companions in Type Soul?

Type Soul Shoulder Buddy Guide
Shoulder Buddies are primarily obtained through various in-game activities, each with its own drop rate, which are not currently known. The Halloween Package also includes some Shoulder Buddies if you want to pay money and skip the grind.
All Ways to Get Shoulder Buddies
Several methods offer a chance at obtaining Shoulder Buddies:
- AFK World: While not the fastest method, AFK World is believed to have better drop rates than other activities.
- Clan Wars: Participating in Clan Wars offers a chance at Shoulder Buddy drops, though the exact drop rate is currently unknown.
- World Bosses: Defeating World Bosses like Sachiel, Anos, Bawa, Jidambo, and Ghoul presents another opportunity, albeit with a low drop rate.
- Raid Bosses: Similar to World Bosses, Raid Bosses also have a small chance of dropping Shoulder Buddies (less than 1%). This method is considered one of the easiest, but not the fastest, due to the low drop rates.
- Halloween Package Included in this package are the Shoulder Buddies, Captain 3, 6, and 7.
Shoulder Buddy Abilities and Features
- Passive Abilities: Each Shoulder Buddy grants unique passive abilities that affect various Shikai, Resurrections, and Volts. Some even boost specific skill tree skills or essences.
- Secret Buddies: Some rare, secret Shoulder Buddies grant unique moves.
- Cosmetic Auras: Each buddy has a distinct aura that you can toggle on or off.
- Tradeable and Bankable: Shoulder Buddies can be traded with other players and stored in your bank.
- Shoulder Buddy Rolls: You can purchase rolls for a random chance at obtaining a Shoulder Buddy. Rarities exist, influencing the drop chances.
- Stat Effects: Shoulder Buddies only affect mode gain and drain. They do not provide bonuses to health, defense, or other stats.
Shoulder Buddy Traits
Shoulder Buddies can also have randomly rolled traits, which provide additional passive abilities that stack with the buddy’s base passive. These traits are permanently attached to the Shoulder Buddy and are included in trades.
Shoulder Buddies come in various forms, each with its own distinct appearance, aura, and passive ability. You can acquire up to 36 Shoulder Buddies, there are some of the ways you can get below.
- Captain 7: 5% Reduced meter drain, 5% meter gain
- Captain 3: 5% Reduced meter drain, 5% meter gain
- Captain 6: Gives a 5% Shunko stat buff
- CanadianMR: Increases the rates of kisuke elixir, Sokatsui does slightly more posture damage.
- Captain 8: 5% Reduced meter drain, 5% meter gain
- Captain 9: Makes Flower Passage on all 3 hits guard break not just the 1st, Split Gate not more posture
