New World is the newly released MMO by Amazon Games Studios that will take you into the exploration of a fictional land that was is based off of the Americas. You will be looking to harvest resources, craft items, get control of settlements, complete quests, explore, PVP, or fight off monsters. As you head into this dangerous world, you will need to know how to get yourself some Void Metal for crafting rare armor. We’ll show you how in this guide.
Void Metal Guide
To get Void Metal in New World, you will need to mine Iron Veins, Tundra Elemental, Mountain Elemental, or Corrupt Orichalcum Spire. It can also be obtained very rarely from things like Supply Caches, Supply Crates, Ancient Urns, and Ancient Coffers. It is a pretty rare substance, so don’t expect to get it often.
Mining Iron Veins is one way to get Void Metal, these are the most common nodes that you will find throughout the map. It is a very rare drop, and your likelihood of receiving any is determined by your skill level and your luck. To increase your chances of finding it while mining, look to find armor and items that have the “While Mining, gain X% chance at finding rare items” perk. You can also consume different foods to increase your mining luck, such as Roasted Potatoes, Herb-roasted Potatoes, Boiled Potatoes, Poultry with Roasted Potatoes, and Salted Roasted Vegetables.
Tundra Elementals and Mountain Elementals are glowing Wolves and Bears that spawn around the map. When you kill one of these, you will be able to mine their body if you have 100 Mining skill or higher. You then have a small chance to get Void Metal.
You can find Tundra Elementals in Eldengrove, Shattered Mountain, Ebonscale Reach, Everfall, Brightwood, and quite a few in Reekwater. They might spawn elsewhere as well, but these are confirmed areas that they should show up in.

Mountain Elementals reportedly spawn in Weaver’s Fen, Ebonscale Reach, or Edengrove. More spawns are possible as it is still early in the information gathering process for these.

Caches, Crates, Urns, and Coffers spawn pretty much all over the place. The higher the tier of the thing you open, the more likely you are going to get something rather out of it!
According to some players, you used to be able to get Void Metal from Treasure Chests that you would get while fishing. This appears to no longer be the case, because I have not seen a confirmed pull of it. It’s possible that you can still get it from these chests, but it would be extremely rare if that was the case.
