Icarus is a PVE survival game made by the developer behind the popular and well-known DayZ. You will be heading into an alien wilderness and attempting to survive solo or with a group of players. You can explore around and locate various material to keep yourself and others alive. One of these things you will need is Steel, and if you aren’t sure how to make it, we’ll tell you how in this guide.

Icarus Steel Guide

To make Steel in Icarus, you will need to create Steel Bloom. This is made by unlocking it in the Tech Tree, and requires 6 Iron Ore and 1 Coal Ore. Craft that in your Mortar and Pestle. When you have the Steel Bloom, bring it over to your Concrete or Electric Furnace and smelt it into Steel.

You will first need to make yourself a Crafting Bench, which can be made from the Basic Crafting menu with 12x Fiber, 20x Sticks, 50x Wood, and 12x Stone!

The Mortar and Pestle is an early game crafting station that you can make with a Crafting Bench once you have leveled up to 10. You will nee 4x Silica and 12x Stone to create it.

If you’re early in the game, you will want to make yourself a Stone Furnace. This can be made with 4x Stick, 12x Wood, 80x Stone, and 12x Leather.

Coal and Iron Ore can be mined for within caves, they should be fairly easy to find and plentiful because they are some of the more common ingredient you will need to gather.

Once you have the resources and the crafting stations available, head over to your Mortal and Pestle to craft the Steel Bloom. Them take that Steel Bloom to your Furnace and smelt away. You should now have a Steel Ingot, which can be used to craft a variety of tool and weapon upgrades for yourself.

In particular, you will be able to make the Steel Pickaxe which will allow you to mine things like Platinum and Titanium Ore! The Steel Pickaxe will require you to have 5x Wood, 4x Epoxy, and 6x Steel Ingots to create.

That’s everything you need to know about making steel in Icarus. Be sure to check out the Icarus section of our website for more details on the game!
