Muting Players Guide

Halo and other FPS games are pretty notorious for having some pretty angry voice chats, so it isn’t a surprise that you might find yourself reaching for the mute button. Muting a specific player in Halo Infinite is a bit more difficult than it should be, but it is possible by following the steps listed below.

• Step 1: Hit the Escape Key (Start button on Xbox/Three lines stack on each other)
• Step 2: Hit the Tab Key (Windows button on Xbox)
• Step 3: Locate the player’s name on the list that you’d like to mute
• Step 4: Click on their name
• Step 5: Select the mute option

To mute all voice chat across the board in Halo Infinite, you will need to head to the Settings. This can be done while in a game or in the menus. In the main menu, you can press the F1 key on the PC (Start button on Xbox) to open up settings. You can also just use the Setting gear button at the bottom right of the screen.

Once you’re in the Settings menu, head to the Audio section and scroll down until you see the Communication area. If you want to completely mute everyone, uncheck both the Fireteam & Lobby Chat and the Match Chat options. You can disable your ability to chat via the Voice Chat Mode setting. This is also where you can adjust the Voice Chat Volume if you feel other players are too loud.

Spartan Chatter is the voice lines that your character and your teammates characters will use during matches. This can be disabled by unchecking that option.
