The life of a Space Pirate in Marauders is a dangerous one. While the daring may venture into a raid with not but a Luger, they don’t tend to last very long. A Pirate with the right gear sees much more success (and lives much longer) than the ill-prepared Scallywag, and there’s no way to better prepare yourself than crafting. Before you can learn to craft, you’ll have to get your hands on materials, which is where scrapping comes in. This guide will teach you the essentials to scrapping items in Marauders.

Scrapping Items in Marauders

To scrap items in Marauders, you will first need to head over to the crafting tab in the main menu. This will open up the crafting interface, allowing you to access items from your inventory. To scrap an item, you simply need to click and drag an item from your inventory over to Scrapping area, and then collect the materials afterward.

Scrapping an item gives you one of several potential materials, based on a percentage chance. Most items will have a chance to drop two types of materials, with a higher chance to drop one of these types. You can see what materials an item will drop when scrapped by clicking and dragging the item.

The best items to scrap are usually guns, particularly pistols. While guns sell for a high price at the market, the materials you get from scrapping them can be used to craft items you’ll rarely or won’t find at the trader, such as bags, bandages and body armor, ships, and even more guns and ammo. If you pick up some guns you don’t plan on using, it’s usually better to scrap them instead of selling to the trader.

If you find yourself in need of metal and junk scrap, be sure to pick up the free Luger provided to you on your ship at the start of each mission. Bringing this free item back to the crafting menu is a great way to stock up on a lot of scrap.

That’s everything you need to know about scrapping items in the game. If you want to learn more, be sure to check out the Marauders section of our website.
