The Mist in Valheim’s new biome, the Mistlands, is a beast to navigate through. Thankfully, the properly prepared player has a host of tools they can use to make traversing the Mistlands a lot easier. In this guide, we’ll show you the best ways to clear the mist in Valheim’s Mistlands.

How to clear the Mist in Valheim

The Mist in Valheim’s Mistlands is hard to see through but can be cleared using a variety of tools. Namely, you will need Wisplights and Wisp Torches. Both of these are crafted using Wisps, a resource gathered using a special crafting station.

Wisplights can be crafted using x1 Wisp and x1 Silver.

There is also a weapon called Mistwalker that can be found in the game as of the new update, which clears a swathe of mist with each attack.

How to get Wisps in Valheim

Wisps are gathered passively by a Wisp Fountain. The Wisp Fountain’s crafting recipe should be unlocked by default and can be crafted using a Stonecutter.

You need x10 Stone and x1 Torn Spirit to craft a Wisp Fountain.

Torn Spirit is dropped by Yagluth, the final boss of the Plains area, so you’ll need to kill them before you can explore the Mistlands safely.

Once your Wisp Fountain is crafted and placed, it will passively gather Wisps for you at night.

While your Wisplights will help you see through the Mist, you’ll need a lot more to prepare yourself for your journey into the Mistlands. For more valuable Viking knowledge, check out the guides in the Valheim section of our website.
