League of Legends: Wild Rift enthusiasts can look forward to a plethora of new content and updates with the release of Patch 4.2 on May 26. Dubbed the Playhem patch, it features three new champions, a brand new elemental dragon, updates to marksman champion items, and more.

The three champions joining the fray are Ornn, the Fire Below the Mountain, a durable tank known for his forging abilities; Volibear, the Relentless Storm, a thunderous demi-god capable of disabling towers; and Swain, the Noxian Grand General, a master tactician and mage commanding a flock of ravens. Each champion brings unique abilities to the battlefield, enhancing the diversity of gameplay options.

Patch 4.2 also sees the arrival of the Ice Dragon, an elemental dragon that grants ability haste when defeated. When the Ice Dragon is the first dragon slain in a match, the Rift transforms into a frozen terrain, with icy structures offering movement speed boosts and the appearance of Frozen Fruit. When attacked by a champion, the Frozen Fruit temporarily freezes enemies in a Zhonya’s Hourglass-like state.

The patch aims to refine roles throughout the year, ensuring a fun and satisfying gameplay experience for players. While the previous patch focused on tank items, the Playhem patch addresses marksman items with exciting additions like Immortal Shieldbow and The Collector, as well as updates to Phantom Dancer, Manamune, and Essence Reaver.

Quality of life changes include the expansion of the Gallery Skin Sets feature, the ability to customize in-game UI, and the introduction of the Season Stats feature for tracking Ranked progression. Additionally, Wild Pass Season 13 introduces a new skin for Ahri, Food Spirits Ahri, with an Ascended variant available in the Wild Pass Emporium.

Patch 4.2 also includes a leaderboard event where players can compete using the newly added champions, Ornn and Volibear, to earn special rewards. The event has been tweaked based on player feedback, allowing users to collect rewards from lower tiers.

Lastly, a range of new skins is available, featuring Shan Hai Scroll Nautilus, Shan Hai Scroll Jhin, Shan Hai Scroll Volibear, Shan Hai Scroll Aatrox, Sentinel Graves, Sentinel Diana, Sentinel Olaf, Thunderlord Ornn, Dragon Guardian Galio, Iconic Garen, Soul Stealer Vayne, Dark Star Malphite, Tyrant Swain, Ocean Song Zeri, Ocean Song Seraphine, Ocean Song Ashe, Prestige Battle Cat Jinx, Battle Cat Jinx, and Battle Bunny Miss Fortune.
