League of Legends’ newest champion, Renata, is trending on Twitter today after art of her champion splash and first skin was revealed. The newest champion has a ton of hype built around her, but who is she? We’ll fill you in on everything we know about the newest champion to hit the Rift, Renata Glasc.
League of Legends New Champion Splash Art
Early this morning, pictures of Renata’s splash art and first skin started circulating Twitter. While it’s yet unknown where the source of this image come from, this isn’t uncommon; Lately, nearly every new champion in League of Legends gets “leaked” a few days before their reveal on the social media platform. This could easily be Riot’s doing, as a method of gaining hype for their upcoming release, but this isn’t confirmed.
Speculation aside, the art is definitely genuine. Not only does the art style match with League’s other champion splashes, but it includes features and styles hinted at by Renata’s official teaser from last week. There’s little doubt in my mind that we’ll be seeing this art on the PBE in a few days.
Renata’s cool, sleek white suit paired with her intimidating prosthetics makes for one sick champion design, and the inclusion of a muscular body, greying hair and wrinkles means this champion definitely stands out from Riot’s typical champion design. In addition to her splash art, we also got art for Renata’s release skin.
This skin seems to fit in with Lux’s Imperial skin, hinting at a new skin line that may be dropping with Renata’s release. It could also feasibly be an addition to the Steel Legion skin line, one we haven’t gotten any additions to in a long time. Either way, the skin takes clear inspiration from M. Bison, and I for one am very excited for it.
Who Is Renata Glasc?
For those not in the know, League’s newest champion Renata has been teased for quite some time now, and we already have quite a bit of information on her. Renata was first announced in last year’s Champion Roadmap, where Riot described a Zaunite support who seeks power no matter the cost. She was originally intended to release alongside Zeri during the Arcane event, but Riot decided they were too disconnected from the event and should release separately.
Renata was further teased with the Glasc Industries website, which acts like a businesses’ dedicated online storefront. Unfortunately, you can’t order any of Glasc Industries’ totally safe products from this website at the moment.
Renata Glasc is an industrialist from Zaun, creating everything from prosthetic limbs to cologne for the people of the city. Despite her large and varied business and her charitable donations to the city of Zaun, Renata seems to have something darker going on just below the surface.. Something we’ll no doubt learn about soon.
