Moving Out 2, the co-op puzzle sequel from SMG Studio and DevM Games, has just opened pre-orders today and celebrated with a new pre-order trailer.
According to a new tweet from the official feed, fans who pre-order the Standard or Digital Deluxe Edition will get the free F.A.R.Tastic Four DLC pack. This pack will feature the four new movers Chum, Bastian, Hootacris and Cera Topps.
Moving Out 2 is slated to launch next month on August 15th, 2023. It will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and current or last-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles. You can watch today’s new pre-order trailer on publisher Team17’s YouTube channel:
Today’s new gameplay doesn’t reveal much more than previous trailers, though there are glimpses of some more colorful stages. It would have been beneficial for the devs to tease the special characters that players would unlock with a pre-order. Cera Topps is surely one of the most adorable characters in the series, but none of the DLC characters get the spotlight.
It also would’ve been nice for the trailer to recap the difference between Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions. Physical editions for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation were already teased last month. Fortunately, a post on the Steam page confirms the Digital Deluxe Edition will include an art book, kids’ activity book, commentary, printable 3D models, and a soundtrack.
Today’s trailer is simply an announcement, and longtime fans or curious newcomers are probably already sold on prior trailers. Moving Out 2 will introduce cross-platform multiplayer, and it does look like the tone will smartly ramp up the appealing silliness of its predecessor. All of the revealed stages also capitalize on the physics-based gameplay, with interesting obstacles, layouts, and elevation.
