Apex Legends has finally shown off or confirmed all of the latest leaks in their new trailer for the Awakening collection event, inspired by famous Kaiju IP and coming June 21st.

The trailer opens up with a new Horizon voice line about monsters, leading up to the recently leaked event skins in action.
This includes Loba’s Ultraman outfit, Seer’s Power Rangers skin that appears to reference Tommy from Mighty Morphin, and Horizon’s Pacific Rim-looking suit.
These three are meant to take on skins inspired by Godzilla’s latest monsterverse. Ash, Maggie and Fuse are respectively inspired by MUTO, Godzilla and King Kong.
Town Takeover, Control Mode and Heirloom
Next up, the trailer shows off Lifeline’s Clinic, the upcoming Lifeline town takeover on Olympus. The center of the room is revealed to act like one giant D.O.C. by healing anyone inside the area. This is actually a fun idea, giving players a definitive POI to rush for like Pathfinder’s “Fight Night” takeover.
Control Mode also announces a comeback for World’s Edge instead of Storm Point or Olympus, and the location is revealed to be Lava Siphon.
This probably wasn’t the best LZ for Control Mode, given the Gondolas and exposed height. Control already had unbalanced gameplay by concentrating players onto a single base. And hopefully, there will be a better map rotation, since repeatedly playing the same two maps quickly became tiresome.
Lastly, the trailer closes out by promoting Valkyrie’s upcoming heirloom, which is shaping up to become one of the best. Valkyrie gets a new voice line referring to her heirloom as a “viper”. She also promises to seek out her own legacy now, a surprising little nod to her lore and character growth.
