Questline Shaman Decks – Post Nerf Stormwind

In the new United in Stormwind Hearthstone expansion the Shaman class has received the questline that leads to the card Stormcaller Bru’kan. If you play this card, for the rest of the game, your spells will cast twice! This is obviously a very powerful effect, and could give the class a big boost in the upcoming meta. We’ll take a look at versions of this deck style in this post.

The new Shaman questline, called Command the Elements, requires you to play overload cards. While you generally don’t want to be overloading yourself too much, you can release those locked mana crystals by completing the first part of the quest. The following portion of the quest will drop a 3/3 elemental with taunt on the board, and finally you’ll receive the minion that will cast spells twice.

Two seemingly powerful cards that support this archetype from the new expansion are Canal Slogger and Spirit Alpha. Slogger will be the card that will help heal you up a bit against aggressive decks, as well as give you some control over the board. Spirit Alpha isn’t a great on-curve play, but you can go off with it a bit later in the game with some cheap overload cards.

One of the powerful things you can do once you have your spells doubled is play Instructor Fireheart. You can possibly chain spells together and continually output quite a bit of damage due to the combined effect!

Keep in mind that you should be very careful about crafting any new cards or decks when a new Hearthstone expansion is released. The power level of decks is hard to predict, and a list might be powerful one day and weak the next. The meta is always evolving in the early stages of an expansion release, so consider waiting before making any decks if you’re on a budget!
