Popular streaming title Only Up! delisted on Steam

Only Up! has been delisted from Steam following speculation it had used assets it didn't own.

It’s likely been a tumultuous week for Only Up! developer SCKR Games after they saw their title reach monumental sales following streamers like Dr. Disrespect and TimtheTatman playing on stream. However, following that incredible rise to fame, it seems that Steam has taken issue with the title and has removed it from the platform altogether.

It’s unclear why the game was removed from Steam, but players can still find the entry in Google if they search for it, although it will take them to the platform’s home page. Some rumors began to spread online ahead of it being delisted, with one German user claiming that a (slightly NSFW) model of his was stolen and could be seen from one of the game’s featured images on the store page.

Update July 3, 12:30 a.m. PT: Only Up! was placed back on Steam over the weekend, allowing players to purchase it once again. It is even available at a discount during the Steam Summer Sale 2023, which ends on July 13.

Players who already own a copy of Only Up! can still access it via their library, making the achievement of getting to the top of the game even rarer than it already was. With what’s alleged to be another artist’s work so clearly on display, there may be more than just that one issue keeping the game from continuing to be released on Steam.

Only Up! reached fame following the number of streamers and content creators who posted videos playing and raging after they managed to fall from immense heights, erasing all progress.

Hours before the game was taken offline, Try Hard Guides reviewed Only Up! following the immense popularity it had seen on social media. We found that it was essentially a 3D ripoff of Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy, mostly going viral for how frustrating it was to play.
