Project L, the highly anticipated team-based fighting game set in the ever-expanding world of Runeterra from developer and publisher Riot Games, has revealed that Yasuo, The Unforgiven will join the fight in a new trailer. It features both cinematics and key gameplay of their moveset and abilities.
The trailer description further reveals that Yasuo, The Unforgiven will be playable alongside Darius, Ekko, and Ahri in the recently announced demo for EVO 2023.
Project L has not confirmed a release date yet, but it’s expected to take a long time, despite already boasting a playable demo. You can watch today’s champion reveal trailer for Yasuo on the Riot Games YouTube channel:
EVO is a live event centered around popular fighting franchises, including a variety of tournaments. This year, it’s running throughout this weekend, from August 4th to August 6th, 2023. It will include major fighting games like Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 11, Tekken 7 and more. However, Project L might just turn out to be the highlight of the event, as players finally get an idea of what to expect.
It’s important for Project L to establish itself as a central part of that community, and showcase its potential to the target audience.
Previous trailers as far back as the gameplay basics trailer from last December have looked very promising, and Yasuo’s gameplay continues to impress. The animation is just as gorgeous as ever, with lots of personality, and Yasuo’s moveset looks quite versatile.
Yasuo should smoothly contribute to tag-team gameplay thanks to an equal share of defense, offense, and range. Yasuo seems to be able to control just about any area, and the narration spells out many of the intended strategies outright. This should help League of Legends fans who might not be accustomed to the genre.
