Project: The Perceiver is an open-world action game developed by Papergames and 17ZHE Studio. The game explores conflicting ideologies in a fantasy universe. The setting goes back to the Tianhu Period of the Xuantang Dynasty or known as the “Era of Chaos.” The live stream focuses on the gameplay, which is not shown in the debut trailer. The gameplay of Project: The Perceiver is very similar to Sekiro with the open world of Ghost of Tsukishima in the region of China. The character can dodge, parry or block incoming strikes from enemies. Also, the characters can use the skills at their disposal.

The video also showed a boss fight. As seen in the video, players must rely on their strategic skills as battles are hard. As stated by the developers, skirmishes rely heavily on skills instead of brute force to win.

For the combat system, the developers decided to make it a conversion between attack and defense. When the character attacks the enemies, they can dodge and then attack. Players must carefully utilize attack and defense combos. Also, each character has a unique way of fighting. Others rely on heavy attacks, while some rely on fast attacks. Moreover, characters have different talents in the air.

The architecture of the game is historically realistic. As the developers stated, they referred to the architecture rank system recorded in the Statutes of Building and Repairs of the Tang Dynasty (618-917 AD.) Also, the house structure and style are in accordance with the owner’s social status.

In Project: The Perceiver, the character can also wander outdoors or indoors in the game, exposing players to new perspectives and environments, further diversifying gameplay experiences. The video shows that the zigzag corridors and terraces connect to the buildings to add to the experience.

Project: The Perceiver is coming soon on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and multiple platforms.
