The Japanese fantasy anime, Ousama Ranking, otherwise known as Ranking of Kings, was originally a manga series illustrated and written and illustrated by Sosuke Toka. Chapters of the manga series have already been collected in 13 individual volumes. An anime adaptation of Ousama Ranking was produced by Wit Studio and aired from October 2021 to March 2022.
Recently, an announcement was made to confirm that the Ranking of Kings’ special episode, titled “Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage,” is scheduled to premiere in 2023. Along with the premiere announcement, a new key-visual in which Bojji was shown opening a treasure chest, was revealed to tease the upcoming special episode. The story of Ranking of Kings revolves around the young prince named Bojji who can neither hear nor speak and is so feeble that he can’t even wield a child’s sword. The people of the kingdom look down on Bojji and even refer to him as “The good-for-nothing prince” while pointing and laughing at his apparent ignorance. Nonetheless, Bojji, as a firstborn son, strives hard and dreams of becoming the world’s greatest king. ,
Although Bojji may not be physically powerful, he is not easily discouraged. One day, the young prince meets Kage, a literal shadow who is the remaining survivor of a wiped-out assassin clan. Kage was able to understand Bojji despite him being unable to speak due to his disability. Bojji and Kage have formed an unlikely friendship that will lay the foundation for their journey. The story follows the pair as they make their way through the world, with all of its dangers and mysteries. In spite of the ridicule that he is subjected to his whole life, Bojji resolves to fulfill his desire of becoming the best king he can be.
