Super Crazy Rhythm Castle, an upcoming adventure and rhythm game from Second Impact Games and Konami, has just been announced with a new trailer featuring gameplay and the basic premise.

Super Crazy Rhythm Castle doesn’t currently have a release window, but pre-orders are available now. It’s slated to launch on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and current or last-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles. You can watch today’s reveal trailer on the Konami YouTube channel:

Super Crazy Rhythm Castle looks like a sugar rush of friendly strangeness. It’s like a Saturday morning cartoon, with a bizarre world that’s hyper and full to the brim with popping colors.

The gameplay actually seems quite creative, really justifying and emphasizing its adventure spin on the rhythm genre. Today’s trailer showcases a wide variety of rhythm minigames, each fueled by the lore, and venturing into different genres of music.

The results should be refreshing, since rhythm games often keep their loop down to one key mechanic, particularly in VR. Super Crazy Rhythm Castle should be more accessible than traditional titles, even compared to hits like Synth Riders, which released the new music pack Synthwave Essentials 3 just yesterday.

Super Crazy Rhythm Castle also seems to have a quirky sense of humor. Not only with the narration in today’s trailer, but in the art design of the heroes and enemies, the action, and settings. The trailer also teases that players can choose to go solo or work together.

Between cooperative gameplay, humor, a fantasy world, and support for all major platforms, Super Crazy Rhythm Castle should appeal to just about anyone. It’s also nice to see that physical editions should be available, and hopefully a limited edition rolls out later on with some inventive collectibles.
