Roblox has recently updated its roadmap with an array of features aimed at improving the user experience. These changes, anticipated to roll out progressively through 2023 and 2024, include enhanced moderation, alt-account detection, and various improvements in the Creator Marketplace and Roblox Cloud services.

Roblox is set to introduce “moderation precision” to lessen the burden of asset moderation while ensuring community safety. The platform is also taking firm steps towards curbing the use of alternate accounts by players who persistently break the rules. This alt-account detection feature is expected to help combat exploiters on Roblox, making the platform safer for users.

Also on the roadmap is the official implementation of anti-cheat measures in mid-2023, utilizing Byfron’s technology to bolster client-side and server-side anti-cheat capabilities. This move is part of Roblox’s ongoing commitment to enhance safety features, tools, and moderation abilities, all designed to protect the community and prevent in-experience exploits.

Looking beyond security features, the platform plans to revolutionize the Creator Marketplace with innovative changes. The goal is to make it easier for users to discover high-quality assets and utilize them effectively. To this end, Roblox will introduce features such as richer audio discovery, improved search capabilities that allow descriptive language usage, and a list view beta for effortless browsing of large asset collections. Measures to bolster spam and plagiarism protections, as well as personalized asset recommendations, are also part of the improvement plan.

Roblox also plans to enhance the flexibility and security of its cloud services with the introduction of a range of web APIs. These improvements will allow users to automate workflows through scripts, publish via the command line, and even create bots to assist with community management. Furthermore, updates to inventory and group APIs, along with streamlined GDPR processes, and enhanced service management, are scheduled to be part of the upcoming updates.

The platform is also laying groundwork to offer developers new monetization pathways through Immersive Ads. Developers will be able to place high-quality, native ad units within their experiences, creating an innovative avenue for earnings. Accompanying tools for ad creation, management, reporting, and billing will also be rolled out. With the introduction of these features, Roblox anticipates increased participation from advertisers, leading to improved revenue for developers.
