SEGA has officially revealed a new teaser for their complete lineup of titles that are coming to Gamescom 2023, between August 23rd and August 27th, 2023. Fans can visit SEGA at Hall H during the event.
Today’s trailer description teases there will be “playable demos, themed experiences, exclusive merch, and much more”. Although the trailer doesn’t include any new gameplay footage, it opens with the signature sound of Sonic collecting a ring, and conveniently lists the titles themselves. These games will include:
- HYENAS
- Total War: Pharaoh
- Sonic Superstars
- Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
- Endless Dungeon
- Persona 3 Reload
- Persona 5 Tactica
- Samba de Amigo Party Central
- Sonic Origins Plus
- Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection
- Total War Warhammer III
You can watch the full lineup reveal trailer on SEGA’s YouTube channel:
Sonic Superstars didn’t take top billing in today’s trailer, though it will surely be the highlight of the event. This one generated a lot of buzz when it was first announced in June, given the 2D return to form that will appeal to fans that didn’t gravitate to Sonic Frontiers.
Any Sonic Superstars demo would also reveal fan feedback about the novel four-player cooperative experience. There have been plenty of Sonic games with multiplayer, but this is far more ambitious than a friendly race with Tails.
The other big draw is probably Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. It hasn’t revealed as much as expected just yet, and already seems like a promising addition to the beloved action series.
It’s a surprise that HYENAS was put front and center. It’s possible the multiplayer shooter has been struggling to drum up interest, but the devs have revealed some neat maps, as in the Greed is Good trailer.
