Publisher and developer Soedesco, best known for Truck Driver, Orange Season and their 8-Bit games, will officially “join forces” with indie devs Among Giants according to a new tweet posted today. Although no further details were revealed, the tweet teases that “more info and games” will be announced soon.

It’s unfortunate that Soedesco has left everything up to speculation, but it’s always a delight to see the team expand. They have consistently championed unique, ambitious indie developers with projects that have a distinctly authentic passion.
Just this week, Soedesco announced Desolatium, a Lovecraftian point-and-click game developed by Superlumen, which Soedesco acquired last year. Although the game doesn’t have a release date yet, Soedesco’s announcement included a teaser trailer. For a better idea of the kind of games Soedesco regularly supports, you can watch the Desolatium teaser on their YouTube channel:
Among Giants is based in São Paulo, Brazil, and they’re a very small team. So, it’s taken years for them to release just two titles, but they’ve shown a lot of range.
Their cooperative shooter Gremlin Invasion: Survivor, has largely gone under the radar. Distortions, their music-driven narrative adventure found more interest from casual players.
Despite receiving some mixed reviews due to technical flaws, the content itself was largely praised. The visuals have a brilliant eye for lighting and boast non-stop picturesque scenery. Its characterization and plot are also compelling and easy to invest in.
Since it’s clear that Among Giants has continued to evolve, and boast plenty of creativity to spare, it’ll be very interesting to see how the support of Soedesco will promote and highlight their abilities. Notably, Soedesco suggested that multiple games could be announced soon.
