It’s time to get ready for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Preparing your build ahead of time is a great way to save yourself time and ability respecs in any Borderlands game. For those looking for an entry-level Spore Warden guide to follow while they play, look no further.
Wonderlands Spore Warden Leveling Guide
For this Wonderlands leveling guide, we’re going to focus on the Spore Warden’s interaction with their companions. Remember, companions are your summoned pet allies, not other players. Any skill that lists increases to companion stats do not other players in your party.
The core of this leveling build, of course, is your class feat Mushroom Companion. It reads as follows:
The Fatemaker is accompanied by a Mushroom Companion that targets nearby enemies and deals Poison Damage. Pinging an enemy will cause your Mushroom Companion to lunge towards them.
Any increases to the Fatemaker’s Damage also apply to their Companions.
It’s important to keep in mind that last part, as it’s going to be the main focus when it comes to which skills we level up and which we skip over.

Also, we won’t be multiclassing in this guide. Instead, view this build as an introduction to the Spore Warden class. This is still a solid and powerful build though, and you should still find plenty of synergies when you decide to multiclass.
Spore Warden Character Creation
To start building your character, you must first pick the right options in character creation. These starting stats help give you the boost you need towards building your character and can save you a lot of hassle later.

Raised by Elves is the best background for this build. It gives the Spore Warden some extra crit chance without cutting into any stats they need.

Next, put two points into Strength and two into Dexterity. The rest go into Attunement, but you want to be focussing on your Strength as you dedicate points later so that you and your companion can hit enemies harder.
Spore Warden Skill Point Guide
This leveling build guide tells you how to build your Spore Warden via the order of which you spend your skill points. To properly follow this leveling build, you should be using your skill points as listed below, as you obtain them.
Each section of this Wonderlands leveling guide will describe how to spend your next 10 skillpoints. Remember that you unlock the next tier of abilities every 5 skill points spent.
First 10 Skill Points
Right away, invest your first 5 points into Kindred Heart. This will make your mushroom companion hit harder and last longer, giving your trusty partner a great start towards becoming a dangerous beast.

Next, put one point into Spore Cloud. Not only does this give your mushroom companion a damaging poison ability, it also taunts nearby foes, pulling enemies off you and giving you some breathing room.

Afterward, put 4 points into Bullseye. This gives both of you a little extra crit chance, making it easier to put enemies down fast.

Skill Points 11-20
Put 1 point into Medicinal Mushroom. This will cause your companion to attempt to revive you when you enter Save Your Soul, and if successful you will both gain bonus damage.

Allocate your next 3 skillpoints into Quiver of Holding, giving you increased magazine size and ammo regeneration.

Afterward, put 2 points into Eagle Eye. This will increased your damage and your accuracy and unlock the next tier of skills.

Put 3 points into Thrill of the Hunt and 1 into Called Shot. This will wrap up the Tier 4 abilities and move us towards the end of the build.

End of Build
Max out Wrath of Nature, and this Spore Warden build is pretty much done. From here, the way you use your skill points is up to you; You could invest more into the Spore Warden tree, but from here I would focus instead on multi classing.

That’s all you need to know for this Spore Warden leveling build! This is a solid build that should help you through your first adventure in Wonderlands. Leave a comment below if you found this guide helpful, and check out our other Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Guides.
Really helpful, but are there gonna be any articles regarding multiclass builds? I’m following the Spore Warden and Clawbringer pages for my Wildfire character, but I’m fairly certain even at endgame, I won’t have the points to fully do both.
Glad you found it helpful! We’re considering doing some additional builds in the future.
Alright, cool. Thanks.
