In the UC Vanguard faction quest A Legacy Forged in Starfield, towards the end of the Terrormorph invasion plotline, you are given an option: Aceles or Microbe. Both options are viable solutions to get rid of the threat that wiped Londonion clean of population clean. Is there a wrong or right choice for this quest?

Use our Aceles or Microbe in Starfield – What to Choose Explained to learn what each choice gives you. I’ve seen some trends and sites calling it Achilles, but the correct spelling is Aceles.

Starfield – Should I choose Aceles or Microbe in the A Legacy Forged UC Vanguard quest?

When you go before the council to discuss the best way to resolve the Terrormorph threat in Starfield, you are given two choices, along with tons of information on what the NPCs around you think, so should you choose Aceles or Microbe:

  • Deploying the Aceles is the safest route. That’s my vote.
  • Terrormorphs have caused enough damage. They need to be wiped out quickly with the microbe.

Honestly, from my experience of choosing one and then reloading to choose the other, it doesn’t matter which one you choose, as the quest results are the same. Picking either or does not change anything in the grand scheme of things on your journey through Starfield. If you want the best results, but, once again, nothing changes, convince the council to get rid of the Lazarus Plant along with the Freestar Collective.

You can get the following rewards: You get granted Class One Citizenship, credits, a New Atlantis Penthouse, 15,000 Credits, and reduced costs on Colonial purchases.

However, the only thing that changed from my playthrough was how your companions reacted to your choice.

Starfield Companions Reactions to your Aceles or Microbe Choice

In Starfield, I chose permanently the Aceles option. One, because who does not want to look after giant, cute-looking dinosaurs that can destroy Terrormorphs? And two, because it is the safest option sure, science is amazing, but if it mutates, could truly cause much more devastation than Terrormorphs ever good. It will take longer, but I deemed it best. However, a few of my companions did not like my decision.

Sam Coe

So after I made that decision, I thought my companion, Sam Coe, had my back like a true bro, as he liked my decision. However, afterward, he reneged on it and said that I had made the wrong choice and disliked it. I won’t lie, I instantly kicked him off my ship. If I could have jettisoned him into the deep reaches of space, I would have.

Sarah

Then, upon speaking to Sarah, she massively disliked my decision, and I had a huge argument with her. Sarah and the rest of Constellation are science nuts, so if you want to please them, also go the science no matter what. Every dialogue choice I made, she disliked, and at the end of it, I think I probably lost all the goodwill I earned from helping her.

Andreja

Andreja prefers if you choose the Microbe over the Aceles, but she’s reasonable. By speaking to her, she can see your reasoning and won’t dislike you for it. Here’s a YouTube video on Andreja’s reaction to choosing the Aceles.

Barrett

Barrett was cool with my decision; even though he loves science, he’s your run-of-the-mill, go-lucky adventurer who goes with the flow.

I didn’t speak to anyone else, as Sam and Sarah annoyed me, but yeah, the Aceles or Microbe choice only affects your companion’s reaction.
