Starfield Preload Times – Console, Steam, and Game Pass,

Starfield has gone gold, meaning preload is now available for those to download it, however, it’s not as simple as it sounds. Depending on the platform you are playing on, when you can preload changes, as Steam has a different preload date to consoles, for example.

Starfield Console Preload Times

If you are playing on a console, then Starfield preload is already available. You can start downloading the epic Interstellar game right now.

Starfield Steam Preload Times

If Steam is your chosen platform to play Starfield, then sadly, you have to wait until two weeks after on August 30th to begin your preload.

Starfield Xbox|PC Game Pass Preload Times

If you are playing Starfield using Xbox Game Pass, you are in luck. As PC players have the same preload date as the console, which is right now. PC players do not have to wait till August 30th to download Starfield if they have Xbox Ultimate Game Pass.

How Big is the Download of Starfield?

The download size for Starfield via the Starfield Steam page is 125GB. We can assume it’s the same size on Windows PC, Steam, Microsoft Store App, and Xbox Series X|S consoles. We are also unsure if there will be a day-one patch to increase the size.

The Starfield file size will undoubtedly be bigger than the preload, but the preload gets the majority downloaded, so come launch day, it won’t take long to get into the action. I am not sure how the different editions, such as the Constellation edition, will alter the Starfield download size as a whole.

The Starfield file size may be bigger because the preload really just gets the console ready and just downloads a lot of the game, but not the whole thing. There is also the fact that the release of Starfield has different editions, like the Constellation edition. So, the Starfield download size will increase due to all that comes with the editions.

Have you decided on the background and traits? Or about the many weapons you’ll use as you raid outposts and planets? It’s going to be one exciting journey!
