Thunderful Games has made an exciting announcement, confirming the release date of its much-awaited 3D city-builder SteamWorld Build. Fans can expect this latest entry in the award-winning SteamWorld franchise to arrive on December 1st for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Game Pass.
In SteamWorld Build, players will strive to escape a dying planet by building a unique mining town to uncover a long-lost technology. The game features resource management elements, challenging players to meet the needs of their steambot, trade resources, and defend their mines from the creatures that lurk below.
Players can purchase items to boost the efficiency of buildings and keep goods flowing up and down the mine by speeding up the miners with encouraging jolts of electricity. Using natural resources above ground and ores buried in the mine players will be able to expand their town. Through this, players can also stimulate new residential tiers to join the quest to dig deeper, unearth untold riches, and ultimately help them find a way to escape from the planet.
The first reveal of SteamWorld Build during the January 2023 SteamWorld Telegraph, immediately sparked excitement among SteamWorld fans. To further fuel the anticipation, Thunderful Games released a demo version of SteamWorld Build, offering players a taste of its features. Thunderful Games has also hosted a series of SteamWorld Telegraph shows, providing fans with in-depth previews of the other exciting content that SteamWorld Build has in store.
Early impressions of the demo version have been positive, praising SteamWorld Build for keeping the classic city management mechanics. The new underground digging mechanic has also been well-received for introducing a new dimension to the gameplay.
With the confirmed release date, fans can rest assured that SteamWorld Build will meet its scheduled launch without delays. Furthermore, any issues identified in the demo version are expected to be addressed in the full version, resulting in a refined and seamless gameplay experience.
