Firesquid Games has officially revealed the upcoming anime-inspired tactical RPG developed by Angel Corp, Blade Prince Academy. The game will soon launch on PC via Steam and a Kickstarter campaign is set to begin on May 11th.
Blade Prince Academy offers a modern take on the tactical RPG genre. It features an anime-inspired art style set in a magical punk city and boasts dynamic and deep tactical real-time combat with an emphasis on timing and combos.
In Blade Prince Academy, players will take control of a group of highly skilled magical assassins, known as the Blade Princes, in the dark city of Abjectalia. As students at the Blade Prince Academy, players are tasked with protecting the city from all kinds of threats. Players will also unveil the city’s mysteries and combat the gangs, cults, and vampires wreaking havoc.
Throughout the journey, players will assemble a roster of diverse heroes, each with their unique strengths, weaknesses, and backstories. However, players must be careful in selecting the heroes and the equipment they bring with them as they go out on a variety of missions, discover new areas of the city, and face off against formidable opponents.
Blade Prince Academy features a unique ‘true real-time with pause‘ combat system that allows players to have total control over their units. This system also enables players to manipulate the order and timing of each attack to plan the perfect combo. In addition to dodging enemy attacks and spells as well as saving hitpoints, players may also push foes into perilous situations and use the environment against them during combat.
In between missions, players must train the most competent team they can gather to carry out their missions successfully. This training includes enhancing training facilities, managing student activities, cultivating relationships, and making double-edged pacts with darkness.
There is currently no confirmed release date for Blade Prince Academy, but you may add it to your Steam wishlist to be alerted when it becomes available.
