In your journey through The Talos Principle 2, you’ll stumble upon Golden Puzzle Doors early in the game. These doors stand out as they appear on your compass, but the game doesn’t tell you how to open them or give any indication at all. You might even finish an area and move on without giving these gold doors a second thought.
We have the answers to these Golden Puzzles and how to open the Gold Doors in The Talos Principle 2. We also have more information on resetting puzzles and what Prometheus Sparks are.
How to Open the Golden Doors in The Talos Principle 2
The secret to the Golden Doors lies in completing Lost Puzzles and lighting up towers, but this is endgame content; you won’t unlock them before finishing the 12th area. So, focus on completing all 10 puzzles in each area before worrying about Golden Puzzle Doors.
What are Lost Puzzles?
Lost Puzzles are optional challenges scattered across the game’s areas. You don’t need to solve them to advance in the game, but they are the key to unlocking the Golden Puzzle Doors. Unlike the standard puzzles, Lost Puzzles are marked with a Blue Triangle on your compass and not a number, or if undiscovered, they are question marks.

Each Lost Puzzle you solve lights up a circle dot on the Golden Doors. There are two Lost Puzzles in each game area, so completing 12 Lost Puzzles will complete half a door. So you need to solve all 24 Lost Puzzles.
You will also notice the four triangles at the top of the golden door. According to Nyan on Steam Discussions, these light up after every trip to the Megastructure, so after your fourth trip, all four triangles should light up. As it takes three towers a piece, you need to complete all 12 areas anyway. So Golden Puzzle doors are endgame content.
So, keep an eye out for those unnumbered puzzles with the Blue Triangle, and you’ll be on your way to uncovering all the mysteries The Talos Principle 2 has to offer.
