Bad news for some Dead By Daylight fans. The upcoming chapter, which is rumored to release in June and is said to include a new killer and survivor, probably won’t include characters from the popular horror series Five Nights At Freddy’s.
A fairly large portion of Dead By Daylight’s fanbase has been asking for a Five Nights At Freddy’s chapter for quite some time now. More specifically, fans of both DbD and the FnaF series have been asking Behaviour Interactive to add the fan-favorite FnaF character William Afton (Aka Springtrap) to the game as a playable killer.
Springtrap is an iconic character from the FnaF franchise and probably the one best “suited” (pun intended) to join the Dead By Daylight roster of sadistic killers.
Fans have been so excited for the possible inclusion of Springtrap to the DbD roster that they have speculated his release to be a part of nearly every recent chapter expansion to the game. Most famously, fans speculated that screenshots of the Cenobite from the Hellraiser chapter was actually William Afton’s silhouette.
Unfortunately, it looks like those expecting a FnaF chapter are once again in for disappointment. As we mentioned in a previous post, a promising leak for the upcoming Dead By Daylight chapter has recently been posted on Twitter. Alongside mentioning details about the upcoming killer and survivor, the author of the post also went out of their way to confirm that the chapter will not be Five Nights at Freddy’s related.
If the alleged leaks are to be believed, this means we won’t be seeing Springtrap in Dead By Daylight any time soon. Given the seemingly credible nature of this Dead By Daylight leak account, I wouldn’t hold out hope that the next chapter is going to be FnaF based.
