Total War: Warhammer III has officially revealed their final Champion of Chaos, Valkia in a brand-new cinematic trailer. Champions of Chaos is scheduled to launch on August 23rd, 2022, and pre-orders are available now.

Although the marketing team has developed a lot of hype with the previous Champions, the final trailer for Valkia has been very divisive. The trailer carefully notes in advance that the footage is built from a work in progress, but it isn’t the graphics that fans are troubled by.
The entire sequence of events in the trailer have been largely criticized for underselling Valkia’s power. Although she deals some serious damage early on in the trailer’s battle scene, she’s eventually overwhelmed and retreats into the air.
However, this may be a key feature of her gameplay mechanics. It’s entirely possible that Valkia can actually evade during battle, and the trailer wanted to sell that ability.
It’s also possible that the trailer only put Valkia in a losing situation so that she could reinforce her army’s morale. Valkia flees into the air, but she also gives a war cry to motivate her army. That inspiring leadership is a key personality trait, so some fans are content with the move.
Either way, each Champion of Chaos trailer has had very different results, but this is the first time a Champion has appeared weaker. Fortunately, all that really matters is how Valkia the Bloody will play in-game, regardless of her appearance in one trailer.
The official Total War feed eventually followed up with a tweet that shows off where Valkia’s starting position is in Immortal Empires:
