Tunic, the instant hit adventure RPG about an adorable fox, is officially going to get a Deluxe Physical edition for PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch. From developer TUNIC Team and publisher Finji, Tunic launched last year and is available now on all major platforms.

The Deluxe Edition of Tunic will feature manuals, a foldout map, stickers, and a digital soundtrack. Here’s the big announcement from Tunic’s official Twitter feed:

Tunic’s announcement thread included a follow-up tweet mentioning a standalone Hardcover Instruction Book, which is also available for pre-order.

Tunic is the most ideal dose of nostalgia for classic adventure games from the 90’s and early 2000’s. Its environments are vibrant and colorful, but the isometric action also delivers modern mechanics that make it more accessible to new audiences. Most importantly, Tunic succeeds in its own right, and any retro joy comes second.

But it does mean that hardcover manuals full of controls and secrets will surely please the fanbase. These are exactly the kind of titles that deserve physical releases, and it’s much closer to the original launch than most games get.

Fangamer has a solid reputation for comprehending the titles they work on, capturing the spirit of the game and delivering what the fans are actually interested in seeing. They also worked on the Tunic huggable plush, which today’s Twitter thread also announced would be returning “soon”.

For reference, Fangamer works on a variety of games, such as these Little Nightmares plushes, which only just arrived today:

Though the Little Nightmares mobile port was just delayed, the series still has a loyal fanbase and high expectations. It was also another surprise indie hit, like Tunic. It would be great to hear about Tunic’s physical editions releasing on other platforms sometime, but there’s no official word on that right now.
